Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 22, 2026

1. Introduction

VideoVault ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we access, use, store, and protect Google user data when you use our Google Drive integration.

2. Access to Google User Data

When you authorize VideoVault to access your Google Drive, we may access:

  • Google Account Information: Your email address and basic profile information to identify your account.
  • Google Drive Data: We request access to see, edit, create, and delete Google Drive files (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive). This access is required to enable folder management, file synchronization, and directory parity operations.

VideoVault accesses only the data necessary to perform user-authorized synchronization operations.

3. How We Use Google User Data

We use Google Drive data strictly to provide synchronization functionality, including:

  • Uploading files from VideoVault to Google Drive
  • Creating and organizing folders
  • Updating or deleting files to maintain synchronization parity
  • Authenticating users and maintaining secure sessions

We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, surveillance, analytics unrelated to synchronization, or any purpose not directly related to the functionality of the application.

We do not use Google Drive data for AI model training or machine learning purposes.

4. Storage and Security

OAuth access and refresh tokens are securely stored server-side and encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. Tokens are retained only as long as the user maintains an active Google Drive integration.

We do not permanently store Google Drive file contents on our servers except as necessary to complete user-initiated synchronization tasks.

5. Sharing of Google User Data

We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with third parties. Data is not transferred to external systems except as required to perform user-authorized synchronization operations or as required by law.

6. Limited Use Disclosure

VideoVault's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Data Removal and Revocation

Users may revoke VideoVault's access at any time via Google Account Security Settings. Upon revocation or account deletion request, all associated OAuth tokens are permanently deleted.
